Wadestown Veterinary Clinic was established more than 50 years ago, and some of our clients have been coming here since it first opened. Mike Scully has owned and operated the clinic for almost 25 years, providing a relaxed and friendly environment for veterinary care.

Our veterinarians carry out a wide range of medical and pre-surgical assessments for companion animals. Veterinary nurse appointments are available for suture removals, administering worming treatments, flea treatment applications, expressing anal sacs, nail clipping and weight management. These must be booked prior to arrival to ensure a veterinary nurse is available. Our veterinary nurses also groom cats. These patients usually need to be admitted at 8 am as the groom takes place during the day. Sedation is usually required. We do not groom dogs.

We have been providing quality care to animals in the Mount Maunganui and Papamoa region for over 30 years and pride ourselves on our high standard of care. We have two well equipped clinics. It was purchased by this organisation after closure by the Department of Justice in 1951 and is now classified as an Historic Place. Open plan, and easy to find what you're looking for, there is always someone ready to help you decide what you need. We recently (winter 2019) renovated and earthquake strengthened our reception, retail and consultation area in the old historic courthouse building and added an extra consultation room to allow for the increasing amount of companion animal work we are doing.

Jake graduated from Massey University in 2013 and went on to complete a small animal rotating internship in Queensland, Australia. He returned to Auckland in 2014 where he continued to work with companion animals as an emergency and critical care veterinarian at Auckland's premier after-hours and specialist hospital.After four years of helping pets and owners throughout Auckland, he became an Official Veterinarian with the New Zealand government in 2018, where he has successfully certified thousands of pets for travel to a diverse range of countries. Jake has a solid foundation of knowledge when it comes to the ins and outs of pet export certification and its requirements, and is ready to assist pets and owners in their preparation for travel overseas.
